Tucker Dorsey

Tucker Dorsey grew up in Atlanta and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1989 majoring in Real Estate earning a BBA degree. He started a home building company in Atlanta in 1991 and moved to Baldwin County in 1994 where he grew and managed the largest residential development entity in Southwest Alabama developing more than 50 neighborhoods in Coastal Alabama. He has also done consulting work in Real Estate and business development along the Gulf Coast. Tucker is blessed to be married to the former Susan Haynes from St. Simons Island, Georgia, and they are proud of their 11 year old son, Cyrus. The Dorsey family actively serves at 3Circle Church. An avid snow skier and hunter, Dorsey is also a licensed sports car racing driver and instructor, as well as an accomplished professional photographer.


  • Started the Red Text Foundation benefitting children’s initiatives in the Coastal Alabama area including the BC Sheriff’s Boys Ranch where they have directly and indirectly raised over $250,000 in financial support for the ranch.
  • Participates as a member of the five Baldwin County Chambers of Commerce- Eastern Shore (as an appointed board member), Coastal Alabama, North Baldwin, South Baldwin (Chamber Capital Campaign Cabinet Member), and Central Baldwin Chambers, in addition to the Mobile Chamber of Commerce.
  • Currently serves as the Leadership Alabama regional co-chair having graduated from Class 24, the Bayshore Christian School Foundation Board plus the school’s facilities and growth committee, the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery at Spanish Fort Foundation Board, and served on the BC Republican Party Executive Committee including its Steering Committee as the District 3 Vice Chairman, including service on the state Republican Party Executive Committee.
  • Been a member of the Benjamin Franklin Society benefiting the Holmes Medical Museum in Foley since 1998, and the University of Georgia’s Presidents Club.
  • Has coached several seasons of Little League Baseball in Fairhope including a semi-finalist team in the Alabama State Tournament in 2017.
  • Currently serving his second term (2010-) as the Baldwin County (BC) Commissioner from District 3 and was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of ACCA (Association of County Commissioners of Alabama) after serving two years on their Legislative Committee.
  • In 2016, he was selected to serve as the Interim Executive Director of SARPC (South Alabama Regional Planning Commission) and has served on their Board of Directors. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Mobile Area Boy Scouts, the BC Strawberry Festival board benefitting the BC ARC, as an Honor Flight volunteer and guardian, a founding board member of the BC Education Coalition, the Mobile Navy League, South Baldwin Balloon Festival Crew Member, and member of the Loxley Optimist Club.
  • Recognized by the Boy Scouts with the Golden Eagle Award in 2016, the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber with their inaugural Good Government Award in 2014, and as #7 on 2012 Yellow Hammer Local Leaders top 20 for the State of Alabama and again in 2016.
  • Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce 2017 “Good Government Award”
